The off season would not be the same without drama!

Once again the Sheffield Steelers have a troubled off season as Rink Corp their latest management goes into voluntary liquidation. Paul Ragan, who owns the Steelers and the Cardiff Devils, runs the company.

Fans from both clubs have been assured that the teams will not be affected and that season tickets will be honored as matches will continue as planned. The club is currently being run by a company called Ice Arena and shall be run separately from the Devils who will be run by Cardiff Ice Arena.

As a Steelers fan I am used to this off season worry of whether or not I will have a team next season. It's the same every summer and it makes us stronger then ever!

Not wanting to dwell on the negatives for a moment longer, I would like to welcome the Fife Flyers to our league. We have been waiting a long time for them to join the Elite League and I don't know about you but I am certainly looking forward to all the trips up to Scotland seeing as we have four teams based up there! Hopefully we might get some double headers - weekend away in Scotland anyone?

I shall leave you with two big rivalry games for the Steelers next season:
26th December – Home against Nottingham Panthers
27th December – Away against Nottingham Panthers

Make sure you put them on your calendar as these games are not to be missed! x
